Handling of your text

Privacy

A resume is personal data, and this page describes exactly what the app does with the text you paste. The short version: it stays on your machine.

Your resume never leaves your browser

The comparison runs as code on the page you are looking at, in your own browser. The resume and the job posting are not uploaded, not sent to a third party, and never reach a server run by this app.

That is why a report link only opens on the device that produced it: the report is saved in that browser's local storage under the address you were given, and there is no copy anywhere else.

How long a scan is kept

Until you clear your browser's site data for this site, or until about a dozen newer scans have pushed it out — the app keeps only the most recent handful so it does not fill up your browser's storage.

Clearing site data in your browser deletes every stored scan immediately. There is nothing to request from us, because we do not hold a copy.

What is measured

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views and two events: a click through to Stripe checkout, and a scan finishing. The scan event records the match score, how many terms were missing, and whether the text was pasted or loaded from the built-in example.

No resume text, no job posting text, and no keyword is ever included in an event. Vercel Web Analytics sets no cookie and does not track you across other sites.

Payment

Payment, where it is enabled, is handled entirely on Stripe's own pages. Card details are entered on stripe.com, not here, and this app holds no Stripe key and receives no card information.

No account, no email

There is no sign-up, no password and no email field. Nothing identifies you to this app beyond the ordinary request information any website receives.

This app compares the wording of two documents. It is not career, hiring, legal or financial advice, and it cannot tell you how any employer or applicant tracking system will treat your application.
